DIALOG is a design practice with a simple mission: use great design to change the world. When they asked us to create their new website, we knew they didn’t need a trophy case that highlighted completed projects. It begins with research
In the course of one-on-one interviews with DIALOG employees and clients it became clear that the best way to support reach and engagement was to tell the DIALOG story simply and forcefully. That story is woven from several threads: people, culture and design practice. If we could bring each of those to life, we could educate, inspire and reinforce DIALOG’s central mission.

Bringing a vision to life
The interviews also informed personas for the key audiences we’d identified: prospective clients and prospective talent. By showcasing DIALOG’s process and people as well as the finished projects we could foreground DIALOG’s vision and multidisciplinary approach. And it all needed to be presented clearly and elegantly. (We’re pretty big believers in the power of design ourselves.)
Finally, we gave DIALOG the tools to track and measure site performance against key metrics with the goal of better understanding how key audiences use the site.
We launched the new site in April 2020, and the early results have been gratifying. We’re seeing improved year-over-year engagement among new users and key audiences compared to the previous site, including:
- 86% increase in average session duration
- 57% increase in average page views per session
- 254% improvement in sessions viewing Careers content
- 302% increase in new users viewing Careers content
